Un sergent din Armata Americana, care a participat in Primul Razboi Mondial, conduce acum o divizie de lunetisti in cadrul mai multor operatiuni in Italia, Sicilia, Germania sau Coasta Franceza din Africa. In drumul lor, membrii diviziei de lunetisti sunt implicati in mai multe incidente cu civili (o femeie insarcinata in Franta si un incendiu intr-un sanatoriu).
